MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

CAPA membership offers a variety of benefits to help you:

FELLOW MEMBERSHIP

An individual who is a Fellow Member of AAPA and practices and/or resides in the State of Colorado.

  • $135

AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP

An individual who is NOT a current Fellow Member of AAPA but practices and/or resides in the State of Colorado.

  • $135

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

An individual involved in the healthcare industry, organizations that employ PAs, representative of businesses engaged in selling of products or services to PAs, and those who are ineligible for other categories and wish to associate with the Academy.

  • $135

GRADUATE MEMBERSHIP

An individual who joins (or renews membership with) CAPA in the same year he or she graduates from a ARC-PA approved PA training program.

PHYSICIAN MEMBERSHIP

A licensed physician who desires to associate with the Academy.

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

An individual who is enrolled in an ARC-PA accredited program.

SUPPORTING MEMBERSHIP

An individual who resides out of state, is a physician assistant who may be a fellow member of the AAPA or their respective constituent organization.

SUSTAINING MEMBERSHIP

An individual who previously would have qualified for membership but has chosen not to actively practice in the profession and opts to be classified as a Sustaining Member.

PREMIERE CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP

Industry partners, including but not limited to pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers, staffing companies, programs, etc. may become corporate member of CAPA.

Individual Membership

We ask all members to update their address, phone number, and e-mail information as it changes. For more information, or to update your membership information, please log in using your e-mail address and password.
Contributions or gifts to CAPA may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. Dues, however, are NOT deductible as a result of lobbying activities which are regulated by federal lobbying laws. Questions about the valid tax deductibility should be discussed with your tax advisor.

Individual Member Benefits

CAPA membership offers a variety of benefits to help you:

  • Association staff, including an Executive Director, Lobbyist, and management team.
  • Coordinate and support the association, member activities, and finances.
  • Subscription to the quarterly executive briefing, “CAPA Consult", published to facilitate the exchange of information & the sharing of employment opportunities.
  • A forum for PAs on relevant issues in Colorado.
  • Each issue also focuses on a key issue of interest, such as vaccinations, public health, oncology or other current medical topics.
  • Information regarding continuing medical education opportunities in Colorado and online registration.
  • Lobbying for the PA profession to the State of Colorado.
  • Representation at the American Academy of Physician Assistants House of Delegates, the policy making body of the Academy.

No matter where you chose to practice after graduation, membership in your state PA organization is an important component of your professional development. What is a PA

A PA is a nationally certified and state-licensed medical professional. PAs practice medicine on healthcare teams with physicians and other providers. They practice and prescribe medication in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the majority of the U.S. territories and the uniformed services.

Become a PA

A PA is a nationally certified and state-licensed medical professional. PAs practice medicine on healthcare teams with physicians and other providers. They practice and prescribe medication in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the majority of the U.S. territories and the uniformed services.

  • Begin looking for programs you want to apply to as early as your freshmen year.
  • Compete at least two years of college coursework in basic & behavioral sciences before applying.
  • Prerequisites include: chemistry, physiology, anatomy, microbiology, biology
  • Many PA programs require prior healthcare experience with hands on patient care.
  • Most students have a bachelor's degree and about three years of healthcare experience before entering a program

Industry partners, including but not limited to pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers, staffing companies, programs, etc. may become corporate member of CAPA. CAPA is currently offering the special Premiere Corporate Membership ($1000). This package includes Exhibit Space at the Annual CME Conference and one complimentary admission to the program. Premiere membership also includes your company logo on CAPA website, membership on the CAPA Industry Advisory Council and two meetings a year with the CAPA Board. You will have the ability to provide CAPA leadership with updates around key policy, new products and other issues through this valuable first year membership.
