Get Involved!

  • Become an expert – learn about PA law, reimbursement issues and full scope of PA practice and educate your friends, family and patients, make a presentation to local businesses/organizations.
  • Become a CAPA member – we are a member driven organization that relies on membership dues to fuel our advocacy efforts
  • Join a committee – Governmental Affairs, CME, Judicial Affairs.
  • Be an advocate – talk to PAs in your organization about PA practice law legislative efforts; establish a PA/APC council in your organization to support and promote the PA profession, team practice and PA employment/retention issues within your CDO.
  • Contact your legislator - https://leg.colorado.gov/find-my-legislator and ask them to support PA practice law changes and the upcoming 2023 bill, offer to be their “advisor” on any future health care legislation, remind that you are their constituent and that you provide healthcare to many of their other constituents, contact them again when bill reaches the senate floor.
  • Become a preceptor, educate the next generation of PA, either with local programs or your alma mater.
  • Volunteer your medical services as an individual or with a group of PAs from your organization to those in need or with health fairs while promoting the PA profession.
  • Develop relationship with community organization that may be willing to publicly support PA legislative causes.

Advocacy Donations

CAPA is the only organization advocating for PA practice in the state of Colorado. CAPA is a 501(c)6 non-profit organization and relies on the support of members and grants to fund this important legislative work on behalf of all PAs in Colorado.


CAPA's mission is to advocate for and promote the PA profession by providing professional development, education, representation, and legislative advocacy for all Colorado PAsCAPA believes in access to and delivery of quality medical care for all Coloradans and promotes a commitment to team-based care to enhance the health and wellness of the people of Colorado.
