Check out the resources below to learn more, and consider joining CAPA as a Pre-PA Member! You’ll gain access to networking events, updates on the PA profession in Colorado, the CAPA membership directory to help you find PAs open to shadowing, and firsthand insight into what a career as a PA is really like. Whether you're just starting to explore or already committed to the PA path, we’d love to have you join our community and discover what makes this profession so special.

Do you have questions about what it's    like to be a PA?

We encourage Pre-PA students to attend CAPA events to learn more about the profession and meet some practicing PAs and PA students.

Throughout the year there are networking events, yearly CAPA Conference, and a Pre-PA Q&A with the student representatives in the spring.

Check out the CAPA Events page for more info on these upcoming events.

PAthways Mentorship Program

The PAthways program, supported by AAPA and the Colorado Health Foundation, is designed to increase diversity within the PA profession by offering mentorship and shadowing opportunities to Pre-PA students from racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in medicine. Eligible mentees receive personalized guidance from practicing PAs on topics such as application planning, interview prep, and navigating PA school as a minority student. Participants also receive a $7,500 support stipend and commit to 1–2 hours of mentorship per month for one year. If you are interested you can find more information and apply here.
