Student Corner at CAPA CME Conference

Mark your calendars! The 2026 CAPA CME Conference will take place April 10–12th in beautiful Colorado Springs. Whether you’re a PA student or Pre-PA, the conference offers a variety of exciting student-focused events—from hands-on workshops to networking opportunities and friendly competition. Stay tuned for updates and highlights on what’s in store for this year’s student experience!

Student Lectures and Workshops

The Student Affairs Committee plans events specifically for PA and Pre-PA students at the CAPA Conference, featuring lectures and hands-on workshops. These sessions cover high-yield topics like point-of-care ultrasound, EKG interpretation, wilderness medicine, Q&A panels with practicing PAs, suturing, and more. Whether you're just starting your journey or preparing for clinicals, these sessions are designed to support you as a future PA. It’s the perfect opportunity to build your clinical skills, connect with peers, and grow your professional network.

Challenge Bowl

Think fast, dress loud, and bring the brainpower! The CAPA Challenge Bowl is our very own version of the national competition—where teams from PA programs across the state face off in a fast-paced medical trivia showdown. Expect wild costumes, unbeatable school spirit, and plenty of friendly competition. It’s a can't-miss student event! Come cheer on your favorite team and watch the schools battle it out for the title of 2026 Challenge Bowl Champions!

Community Service

This year, the Student Affairs Committee introduced a new volunteer and fundraising initiative during the CAPA conference. We hosted a medical trivia night at ViewHouse Colorado Springs, raising funds for Roundup River Ranch, which provides free summer camp experiences for children with  medical conditions such as diabetes. The event was well received and attended, and we hope to continue this tradition at future conferences.

In addition, we organized a donation drive at each PA program for two weeks leading up to the conference, as well as during the conference itself. Donations included toiletries, diapers, and other essential items for Packs of Hope, an organization that supports children entering foster care. This initiative was also a success, with strong participation across all 4 PA programs.
